The door into Lewis’s so-called Space Trilogy: why Out of the Silent Planet begins the Ransom series, what to expect from the course arc, and how to enter that first cosmic voyage without treating the novel as mere pulp adventure.

In this Mythic Mind lecture from the Fiction and Philosophy of C.S. Lewis course, Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) frames reading order, useful companion essays, and the philosophical stakes that make Lewis’s first cosmic voyage more than a trip to Mars.

Topics include the Ransom arc ahead, storytelling essays that help, and why Lewis’s “space” fiction keeps pushing past the label.
