Join Andrew Snyder and members of the Mythic Mind Fellowship as we work our way through the Poetic Edda. In this conversation, we discuss All-wise's Sayings, The First and Second Poems of Helgi Hundingsbani, and The Poem of Helgi Hiorvardsson.

Thor keeps a dwarf talking until the sunrise turns him to stone, and then the Edda turns from the gods to the heroes: Helgi, the valkyries Sigrun and Svava, and the dead Helgi's strange return from his grave mound.

These heroic lays are full of loyalty, vengeance, and love that will not end at death. We read them as the old north's ache for a victory over the grave, an ache that only the Resurrection answers.
