## In this episode

The Phantom Menace opens the prequels where Star Wars suddenly has real politics: Trade Federation blockade, Senate theater, and a child marked by prophecy. Qui-Gon stands as a maverick who helps disentangle the Jedi ideal from the Jedi institution, while Anakin’s first steps already shadow the fall to come.

In this Mythic Mind Movies conversation, Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) is joined by Reverend David, Layman David, Daylon, Ian, and Judah. They weigh prophecy and “balance” of the Force (including Christian pushback on a Zen both-sides reading), world-building strengths of the prequels, fear-anger-suffering on the dark path, and why some in the fellowship find more to think with here than in the OT alone.

Topics include the chosen child, midichlorian debates, Jar Jar as Lucas’s strange bet, and how TPM sets the Republic’s sickness in view.
