## In this episode

Shasta runs north not knowing he is Cor; Aravis flees Calormen; Bree and Hwin argue about freedom and courage; and Aslan has been the cat, the lion, and the voice along the road the whole time. This class lecture from The Fiction and Philosophy of C.S. Lewis reads The Horse and His Boy for providence, identity, and the difference between destiny grasped and destiny received.

Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) tracks the story’s philosophy: hidden kingship, pride softened into humility, and why the North is more than geography for souls learning to be free.
