## In this episode

The Empire Strikes Back is where Star Wars stops being only a victory story and becomes a descent: Luke’s training in a murky underworld, Vader in full flower, and a father-revelation that reorders everything the first film seemed to promise.

In this Mythic Mind Movies conversation, Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) and guests continue the Star Wars film series (after New Hope on the main Mythic Mind feed). They talk Hoth to Dagobah to Cloud City, Jungian and Kierkegaardian readings of Luke’s cave, Yoda’s training as liminal formation, Han’s capture, and why this middle chapter still feels like the saga’s darkest turn even when the Force is with them.

Topics include fatherhood and betrayal, hope under imperial pressure, lived-in cinematography, and how Empire opens the Christian-humanities lane for the Movies show.
