## In this episode

Skyrim’s Nords draw deep from the northern mythos: Alduin as world-ending dragon beside Ragnarok, Sovngarde as Shor’s Hall of Valor beside Valhalla, and Nord courage that stands against fate the way Beowulf’s mead-hall circle of light stands against endless winter.

In this Elder Scrolls & Philosophy talk, Dr. Andrew Snyder traces three rooted parallels (lore, developer intent, and history): Alduin and time’s doom, Sovngarde’s reputation-and-last-battle ethics (Havamal echoes), and the Companions' berserker / saga fury. Northern tragic heroism refuses despair without pretending the dragon never comes.
