## In this episode

Return of the Jedi completes the original trilogy’s descent-and-return pattern: after Empire’s underworld turn, Luke goes into the dark to bring his father back, facing the Emperor while Vader chooses mercy over the machine of power.

In this Mythic Mind Movies conversation, Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) is joined by Ian, Reverend David, Lady David, and Daylon. Andrew names it his favorite Star Wars film even when Empire is “the best.” They revisit Jabba’s palace with adult eyes, the Luke-Vader-Emperor climax, Ewoks as childhood joy vs adult critique, and christological types (Luke and Anakin as partial figures, not a forced one-to-one allegory).

Topics include redemption and the father’s choice, Endor aftermath, American myth familiarity, and closing the OT before the saga expands.
