## In this episode

Ransom is shot from Malacandra to the wave-world of Venus: floating islands, an unfallen Lady, the Un-man, and a temptation to seize the Fixed Land instead of receiving the gift. Perelandra is paradise under assault, then the Great Dance.

In this Mythic Mind lecture from the Fiction and Philosophy of C.S. Lewis course, Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) walks the novel’s philosophy: descent that receives rather than crashes, Weston’s progressive creed, obedience as riding the wave, and why myth may finally demand a blow.

Topics include bent desire versus glory, the Fixed Land as false security, and how Perelandra pulls the cosmic war closer to Earth before That Hideous Strength.
