## In this episode

What still makes Tolkien great when the fandom and the academy keep trying to remake him? In this conversation, the Middle-earth Mixer joins Mythic Mind for a candid talk about wonder, ideology, and belonging in Middle-earth.

Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) speaks with the Middle-earth Mixer (@middleearthmixr) about why Tolkien’s secondary world still draws people, how ideological capture shows up in Tolkien spaces, and what faithful attention to the stories looks like amid culture-war noise.

Topics include the joy of first encounters with the legendarium, online Tolkien culture, and why academic fashion is a poor guide to what the books actually give.
