## In this episode

Leaf by Niggle is Tolkien’s quiet parable of making: a little painter who never finishes his tree, a neighbor who keeps interrupting, and a journey that turns distraction and duty into something larger than either alone.

In this Mythic Mind conversation from the Tales from the Perilous Realm series, Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) talks with Thomas Salerno (Perilous Realms podcast) about Niggle’s art, Parish, purgatory-tinged work, and how the finished Tree reframes what looked like failure in life.

Topics include subcreation, the perilous realm at a higher pitch, and why this short story still speaks to anyone who makes under unfinished conditions.
