Hello, Fellowship,

Here are a few things happening around the hearth:

**New on Mythic Mind: The Death of Ivan Ilyich: Am I Guilty? (ep. 194)**
We all know we will die one day. It is another thing to consider that it is I who am going to die. In this episode, David, Jack, and I read Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich, the story of a man who did everything "properly" and still ended up utterly alone, until suffering forced him to ask the one question he had always avoided. Along the way, we find Tolstoy arriving at some of the same places as Lewis and Kierkegaard by a very different road.

**New in The Inkwell: The Sickness unto Death: Kierkegaard on Despair and the Self**
Most people in despair do not know it. In the latest article in my Kierkegaard series, I look at where our most fundamental decisions place us, and why the opposite of despair is not happiness but faith. It also pairs well with Ivan Ilyich, who discovers his despair only at the very end.

**The Kierkegaard course is ongoing**
Our Kierkegaard course is well underway, and Fellows and Companions can jump in at any time. You can find it here: [Join the Course](https://mythicmindfellowship.com/the-psychology-of-soren-kierkegaard-life-in-anxiety-despair/)

**From the archive: Escaping the Truman Show**
We were not able to schedule a new Movies chat this time, so I am bringing our earlier episode on The Truman Show into our Exploring the Psyche season. How do we know what is real, and how do we move beyond the artificial worlds built for us by society, the internet, and our own minds? It is a fitting companion to this season's questions about the self.
