## In this episode

Books 5 and 6 move Augustine from Carthage toward Milan: rhetoric as career, Manichaean disappointment, Ambrose on the horizon, and Monica’s tears that will not let him go. The restless heart is still traveling.

Dr. Andrew Snyder (professor of philosophy and theology) is joined by Chase and Kyle for the Mythic Mind fellowship book club on these middle books: ambition, false teaching, friendship, and the slow pressure of truth before baptism.

Topics include becoming oneself before God, shadow selves versus solid persons, and how Confessions keeps philosophy and prayer in the same room.
